Rallies/Petition to Change Family Law Act to protect children

A group of academics, journalists, psychologists, parents and concerned citizens have launched a national campaign, calling for changes to the Family Law Act to provide greater safety for children in custodial disputes affected by family violence. As part of the campaign, rallies will be held in capital cities across Australia at 11am on Sunday 3 May 2009. Find out about the rally in your state at: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=69087938967 The campaign has a petition regarding specific legislation changes to the Family Law Act: http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/family-court-of-australia-amendments.html so that an allegedly abusive parent will have to prove that the children would be safe in their care and that the court ought to adopt an inquisitorial, not adversarial approach to the evidence.

In 2006-2007 22 children were murdered by their parents. 11 by their mothers, 5 by their fathers and 6 by step fathers. Further FOI information from WA shows 47% of physical abuse is by mothers and 23% by fathers. It is a complete snow job by femminists to claim fathers are dangerous to children and has more to do with a campaign to roll back the 2006 changes to family law that introduced elements of fairness to the system and return us to the dark ages where come divorce fathers and their children were totally ripped apart by the whim of the mother.
